What our Parents & Students say
“He’s come on leaps and bounds since coming to Kip. He’s so much better with his English in school and working much more independently”.
“Kip has really helped my Maths. I feel like I have been doing better in recent school tests. The outcome is that I’ve been moved up to the top set for Maths. Thank you.”
“He’s beginning to really enjoy English now, since coming to Kip. The lessons are really helping him to enjoy the subject.”
“When she started Kip, the school said that she was 2 years behind her peers. In the 6 months she’s attended, the school are now saying she’s caught up a whole year. We’re both really happy.”
It was really helpful in my English language and Miss Kathryn is an amazing teacher.
I have enjoyed these sessions as they have helped me improve in the subject. The support that I have been given is amazing.
I found it to be a great experience and very beneficial to my English capabilities. Thank you!
It’s helped me with my maths because the teacher sat down and listened to me on what I was struggling with. They explained it when I was stuck.
This has really helped me be more confident in answering certain questions. Thank you both for your time and patience with me. I really appreciate it. Going to miss you both.
The teaching is really good and I learnt and furthered my understanding with their help.
“Kip is making a big difference and she’s made really good progress since her lessons started. She’s also moved up in spelling which she’s really happy about. “
“Online is just like in the centre. It helps with my maths and english. I like the whiteboard as you can explain things in a fun way.”
“Just like to thank my tutor for his excellent helping skills. When I get a question wrong and I press the help button he is always there to support me and he always goes through the question step by step. So a huge thank you to my tutor, my man, my guy, Adrian Wilson. Thanks Sir.”
“Kip helps me to understand things more than I do at school” ( he’s going back to school next week as he can get more help there).
“Hi, just wanted to let you and Ellie’s Maths teacher know that she got her Maths GCSE results today and she got the 4 she needed to pass so she is over the moon as this was her 1st time with Kip and her 4th attempt overall. So thank you very much to you all 😀”
“He does seem to be really enjoying the lessons. On Saturday he was disappointed when the lesson finished. I just wanted to thank you for your continued support and providing such a good service.”
“In a recent school report they have said that she’s doing really well and prospering with her English. Thank you to all at Kip for your help.”
” Doing Kip has given her a lot more independence and confidence. ”
I use the Derby South Branch and I have always found the communication is excellent, they are quick at responding to enquires and quick at getting things up and running for students that I refer to them. The students have found it to be a really enjoyable experience, either going into the centre when allowed or having their sessions online. We have found the online provision to be excellent, if there have been any issues with logging in they have been able to solve this usually on the night. I have also found that the price for the sessions is extremely reasonable.
Summer catch up programme delivered to approximately 150 students from 12 schools across the Trust.
“DDAT is a multi-academy trust of 28 schools located across Derby City and Derbyshire. During the Summer break 2020, DDAT worked with the Kip McGrath team based in Derby to set up a bespoke catch-up tutoring programme for targeted DDAT pupils across Derby and Derbyshire utilising the local centres but coordinated centrally by the team in Derby. The DDAT/Kip McGrath summer catch up programme was set up very quickly by the Derby team, with reporting mechanisms and quality assurance processes established to monitor effectiveness.
As part of the COVID-19 catch-up, the project was extremely successful in terms of participation by pupils and outcomes. Some participating schools have requested to continue with the Kip McGrath tutoring for specific pupils as part of the wider programme of catch-up in the 2020/21 academic year and some parents and carers have also elected to continue with tutoring at their own expense due to the successful outcomes and ease of access.”
“In a recent Maths mock GCSE exam in school I was only 2 marks off being awarded a Grade 8. Thank you so much to Kip”.
“Also just wanted to thank you all because we have had Mason’s mock exam results for English and he was predicted a 3 in English language and just got a 5 in the exam and he was predicted a 2 in English literature and he just got a 4 in that exam, so with your help, he is making huge progress 😀 hopefully he can continue to make more progress. Thanks again.”
“Ayla has progressed with Helen, academically and has gained confidence.
Ayla genuinely looks forward to learning with Helen.”
“My son has really improved with his grades he is in year 9. Helps with his maths confidence can’t recommend here enough.”
“My daughter enjoyed her face-to-face sessions at KIP with Sue; she can be hard to engage sometimes but when she is taught by Sue, she is highly motivated to learn – which is a joy to see. Since lock down and the introduction of online lessons she now looks forward to these too, and she is always upbeat and positive afterwards. We’re very happy with service.”
“Kadesha’s confidence has grown both in Maths and her Reading. For reading she will now be looking at reading longer text and focusing more on comprehension. Another focus will be writing down her ideas in a structured way so her sentences makes sense. Her Teacher has noticed the difference in her answering questions and participating more in class. Thank you Sue & Dave”
“We signed up for Kip Online in May 2020 just as lockdown had started. My daughter really enjoyed the weekly lessons with Helen and despite being only 7, she was engaged in the work and looked forward to the lessons each week. She has a mixture of Maths and English lessons and they are broken down into short lessons within the hour that keeps her engaged. She returned to school in September and her academic ability had improved despite missing out on 4 months of school. She now continues to have lessons with Kip online. She always disliked Maths and struggled to grasp it but now her maths ability astounds us. She even tells us she likes maths, and we were told at parents evening in October that she had recently scored high in a maths test compared with her peers in the class. We have also noticed that her confidence has increased at school and believe that Kip tutoring has aided with this because she is more confident in her abilities. She understands math concepts well and the one-to-one online support gives her the academic boost she needed.”
